A man armed with words is far more dangerous than a man armed with a gun.
A man with a gun has one option; manipulation through fear. A man with words has endless possibilities to manipulate, inform, inspire or influence. A man with a gun may be able to get what he wants in the short term, but when the first chance presents it’s self the person on the other end of it will will betray the gunman. A man with a voice can gain trust, respect or even love which can compel people to do things that a gun never could and create security against betrayal or failure. Unlike a gun you don’t need a permit to carry a voice. The most sophisticated and effective weapon known to man is the use of words. Words can turn a keyboard or a microphone into a weapon of mass destruction depending who is behind it. Politicians, Lawyers, Lobbyists, Journalists and countless others make a living off of their words, off of people believing their words. People use words as weapons to get what they want everyday for personal gain or to forward a cause they believe in. Today is Sunday meaning around the world millions of people gave billions of dollars to their churches and all the churches offered in return were words, that is a feat that could never be accomplished with a gun. The majority controls the power in every situation where power can be held, if the majority follows you, you have the power and all it takes to win the majority is words. Most of us will go our whole lives without looking down the barrel of a gun but chances are if you’re old enough to read this, you’ve been manipulated by the words of another countless times. Even now most of you are reading this and that’s all your doing is reading it. How many people are reading this and actually wondering if these words meant to manipulate, inform, inspire or influence? How many people didn’t think of that until it was written for them plain as day? Every day you encounter thousands of words each one potentially more powerful then anything else known to man. Keep your head up and remember, you and everybody else around you are armed and dangerous!
